Friends of St George Community Outreach
St George’s outreach activities, to the wider community, are co-ordinated and delivered via an active volunteer base known as Friends of St George.
Community outreach is an important part of St George Rose Bay’s mission.
Established in 2016, “Friends of St George” is a group of active St George parishioners and friends who volunteer their time to give back to worthy community causes. It is a sub committee under the Ladies Auxiliary Philoptohos.

Our Projects
The Group’s previous and current projects include:
- Working with A Touch of Kindness, on a regular basis, to offer a meal and a conversation
with those in need at Martin Place, Sydney
- Cooking and preparing meals or snacks in our Church Hall kitchen and at Our Big Kitchen (OBK) Bondi for distribution to various organisations, including the Greek Welfare Centre Soup Kitchen at the Greek Orthodox Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen in Newtown
- Annual Christmas Hamper and Winter Warmer drives to collect food and clothing items for distribution to local community organisations such as Wayside Bondi, Feed The Poor (St Sophia Darlinghurst) and A Touch of Kindness (Martin Place)
- Community events, such as Sausage Sizzles and Trivia Nights, to raise funds to execute the Group’s projects
